NOTE:
The entire Tournament playing conditions, and any other advice and announcements, will be given at the official "Welcome Function, Friday September 26. We urge you to attend.
GENERAL
The tournament shall be run entirely by a Tournament Organising Committee ("The TOC"). Their decisions shall be final and binding on ALL matters pertaining to this tournament.
The tournament shall be played under the R&A Rules of Golf, and in accordance with any local rules set by the Pradera Verde Golf Club
The tournament shall comprise:
An Individual Stableford competition, comprising three 18-hole rounds over three days
A Teams competition running simultaneously over the three days
Our tournament venue is once again the fabulous Pradera Verde Golf Resort, now with an awesome 36 holes for us to choose from, providing us excellent variety and challenge.
This year we will also be running an inaugural Ambrose Event on the weekend prior to the commencement of the Tournament proper. This may include players from other venues who might otherwise be unable to play in our tournament.
PLAYING: Individuals
Players will participate in groups of 4, with "flights" (playing groups and tee times) advised prior to each round. Subject to player numbers, Pradera may grant us 2-tee starts, which will greatly improve overall finishing times.
The Individuals Tournament is divided into three Divisions, A, B and C. Players will be advised of their designated division (based on handicap range splits) at the Welcome Function.
The tournament shall be 54 holes, run over three days, with 18 holes played per day.
The scoring method shall be Stableford format, with scores recorded daily on our specially printed tournament cards provided at check-in time by the Pradera staff.
A player's overall Tournament finishing score shall be the sum of all 3 days' Stableford totals.
Should a player fail to complete a round, then he is deemed disqualified from that round and his Stableford points total for that day shall be zero (other days will still count).
As per regular golf, each player in a group must swap cards with another, so that no player records their own scores (except as the "marker" on someone else's card).
Players and markers are responsible for marking and signing cards accordingly. Unsigned, damaged or misplaced cards may result in disqualification from that round.
Caddies must NOT do any recording of scores. Much as they might like to, Stableford is still a complex concept for some, and there is no universal training for it in their industry.
Score cards MUST be checked and signed by both Player and Marker and submitted to the TOC directly after each round.
PLAYING: Teams
As per previous years we will be running a Teams competition simultaneously with the Individuals competition.
The teams competing shall be those that were created for the Ambrose event held prior.
The daily team total shall be the sum of the BEST THREE individual Stableford scores in the team, with the worst score excluded.
Teams shall be competing for the Invitational Perpetual Trophy as well as other prizes advised in due course.
HANDICAPS
Players shall use their World Handicapping System (WHS) official handicap as it stands on 1 September 2025.
Incorrectly advised or applied handicaps may result in disqualification as per Rule 3.3B of the R&A Rules of Golf.
Should a player have multiple handicaps (e.g. due to being members of multiple clubs or organisations) then the LOWEST shall be the one used in this tournament.
Should a player not have an official WHS or other "recognised" handicap, then one shall be prescribed by the TOC after round 1, using the international "system-36" method.
In the interest of fairness and transparency, the TOC reserves the right to enquire about the handicap of any player with the player and/or their home club.
To improve fairness and equity, the TOC reserves the right to adjust a player's handicap, based on results in any round as follows:
36 points scored = 1 stroke handicap reduction for next round
37+ points scored = 2 stroke handicap reduction for next round
NOVELTY EVENTS
We have various novelty events planned throughout the Tournament, to be advertised in due course, but will generally include:
Nearest the Pins- with daily and overall prizes on designated par-3 holes
Super-pin Shootout - Additional NTP-style comps on specially sponsored hole.
