Rules & Conditions of Play

GENERAL

  1. The tournament shall be run entirely by a Tournament Organising Committee ("The TOC"). Their decisions shall be final and binding on ALL matters pertaining to this tournament.

  2. The tournament shall be played under the R&A Rules of Golf, and in accordance with any local rules set by the golf club where we play.

  3. The tournament shall comprise:

    • An Individual Stableford competition, comprising three 18-hole rounds over three days

    • A simultaneous Teams competition at the discretion of the TOC

PLAYING: INDIVIDUALS

  1. As per any other golf course, players will play in daily groups of 3 or 4 (called "flights")

  2. Flights and tee times will be advertised the evening prior to each round on our WhatsApp group chat (which you were automatically added to when you were confirmed as a tournament attendee)

  3. The Daily Captain for each group is automatically the lowest handicapper, whose role includes:

    • ensuring acceptable speed of play (i.e. ALWAYS keeping up with the group in front!)

    • ensuring ALL group members have read the daily local rule sheets, and understands the scoring procedures.

  4. The Tournament is divided into "divisions" based on handicap spreads, at the discretion of the TOC. Players will be advised of their designated division at the Welcome Function.

  5. The tournament shall be 54 holes, run over three days, with 18 holes played per day.

  6. The scoring method shall be Modified Stableford format, as follows:

    • A player's Daily Tournament Result (DTR) shall be calculated as the sum of his best 9 stableford scores of the 18 holes played that day.

    • Should a player fail to complete a round, then his DTR shall be calculated form the holes played

  7. Specially printed Invitational score cards will be provided each day at check-in by the golf club staff. DO NOT USE their generic golf club card for scoring.

  8. A player's overall Tournament result shall therefore be the sum of the three DTR's mentioned above.

  9. As per regular golf, each player swaps cards with another for the purposes of scoring and marking. DO NOT HAVE YOUR CADDY MARK ANY CARD!

  10. Players and markers are responsible for marking and signing cards accordingly. Unsigned, damaged or misplaced cards may result in disqualification from that round.

  11. Caddies must NOT mark the cards! Much as they might like to, Stableford is still a complex concept for some, and there is no universal training for it in their industry.

  12. Score cards MUST be checked and signed by both Player and Marker and submitted to the TOC IMMEDIATELY at the conclusion of each round.

  13. Daily scores, leaderboards etc will be announced at the nightly presentation functions.

PLAYING: TEAMS

  1. At the discretion of the TOC, we may choose to run a Teams competition simultaneously with the Individuals competition.

  2. Teams shall consist of TWO, THREE or FOUR players, randomly drawn from the abovementioned designated divisions, at the official Welcome function.

  3. These teams will subsequently be those being bid on in our Tournament Calcutta.

  4. The Daily Team Total (DTT) shall be the sum of the individual team-member DTR's mentioned above.

  5. The Overall Team Total (OTT) shall therefore be the sum of the three DTT's mentioned above.

  6. Teams shall be competing for awards and prizes in addition to those awarded to individuals.

HANDICAPS

  1. Players shall use their World Handicapping System (WHS) official handicap as it stands on 1 September 2026. In Australia this equates to the new Golf Connect Handicap (formerly known as your GA Handicap).

  2. Incorrectly advised or applied handicaps may result in disqualification as per Rule 3.3B of the R&A Rules of Golf.

  3. Players with multiple handicaps (e.g. due to being members of multiple clubs) shall use the LOWEST as their handicap for this tournament.

  4. Players with no official recognised handicap will be prescribed one by the TOC. These players are not eligible for individual prizes, but will be eligible for Teams and novelty prizes (e.g. NTP's)

  5. In the interest of fairness and transparency, the TOC reserves the right to enquire about the handicap of any player with the player and/or their home club.

  6. In the interest of fairness and equity the TOC reserves the right to adjust a player's handicap, based on results from any round as follows:

    • 37 or 38 points scored = 1 stroke handicap reduction for remainder of tournament

    • 39 or 40 points scored = 2 stroke handicap reduction for remainder of tournament

    • 41+ points scored = 3 stroke handicap reduction for remainder of tournament

NOVELTY EVENTS

We have various novelty events planned throughout the Tournament, to be advertised at the Welcome Function, but will generally include:

  • Nearest the Pins- with daily and overall prizes on designated par-3 holes

  • Super-pin Shootout - Additional NTP-style comps on a specially sponsored hole.

  • RSL Charity Chip-off - a special NTP competition run by our charity partners, RSL Angeles around the course practice green facilities
