Rules & Conditions of Play

NOTE: The entire Tournament playing conditions, and any other announcements, will be given at the official "Welcome Function, which we urge you to attend.

GENERAL

  1. The tournament shall be run entirely by a Tournament Organising Committee ("The TOC"). Their decisions shall be final and binding on ALL matters pertaining to this tournament.

  2. The tournament shall be played under the R&A Rules of Golf, and in accordance with any local rules set by the golf club where we play.

  3. The tournament shall comprise:

    • An Individual Stableford competition, comprising three 18-hole rounds over three days

    • A Teams competition running simultaneously over the three days

  4. Our tournament venue is once again the fabulous Pradera Verde Golf Resort, now with an awesome 36 holes for us to choose from, providing us excellent variety and challenge.

PLAYING: Individuals

  1. Players will participate in groups of 3 or 4, with "flights" (playing groups and tee times) advised prior to each round. Two-tee starts will be requested where possible with the golf club.

  2. The Individuals Tournament is divided into "divisions". Players will be advised of their designated division at the Welcome Function.

  3. The tournament shall be 54 holes, run over three days, with 18 holes played per day.

  4. The scoring method shall be Stableford format. Special Invitational score cards will be provided at check-in time by the golf club staff.

  5. A player's daily Tournament result shall be calculated by the sum of his best 9 stableford scores of the 18 holes played.

  6. Subsequently A player's overall Tournament result shall be the sum of those three totals mentioned above.

  7. Should a player fail to complete a round, then his scores for completed holes shall form his total for that round.

  8. As per regular golf, each player swaps cards with another for the purposes of scoring.

  9. Players and markers are responsible for marking and signing cards accordingly. Unsigned, damaged or misplaced cards may result in disqualification from that round.

  10. Caddies must NOT record scores on our special cards. Much as they might like to, Stableford is still a complex concept for some, and there is no universal training for it in their industry.

  11. Score cards MUST be checked and signed by both Player and Marker and submitted to the TOC directly after each round.

  12. Daily scores, leaderboards etc will be announced and presented at the nightly presentation functions.

PLAYING: Teams

  1. As per previous years we will be running a Teams competition simultaneously with the Individuals competition.

  2. Teams shall consist of TWO players: oner from Division A and one from Division B.

  3. Teams will be compiled by random draw at the Welcome function and will subsequently be the teams being bid on in the Calcutta.

  4. The daily and overall team totals shall be derived from the sum of the two individual player results as per points 5 and 6 above.

  5. Teams shall be competing for the Invitational Perpetual Trophy as well as other prizes advised in due course.

HANDICAPS

  1. Players shall play with their World Handicapping System (WHS) official handicap as it stands on 1 March 2026. In Australia this equates to the new Golf Connect Handicap (formerly known as your GA Handicap).

  2. Incorrectly advised or applied handicaps may result in disqualification as per Rule 3.3B of the R&A Rules of Golf.

  3. Should a player have multiple handicaps (e.g. due to being members of multiple clubs or organisations) then the LOWEST shall be the one used in this tournament.

  4. Should a player not have an official "recognised" handicap, then one shall be prescribed by the TOC. These players are not eligible for individual prizes (except NPT) but will be eligible for Teams prizes.

  5. In the interest of fairness and transparency, the TOC reserves the right to enquire about the handicap of any player with the player and/or their home club.

  6. To improve fairness and equity, the TOC reserves the right to adjust a player's handicap, based on results in any round as follows:

    • 37 or 38 points scored = 1 stroke handicap reduction for remainder of tournament

    • 39 or 40 points scored = 2 stroke handicap reduction for remainder of tournament

    • 41+ points scored = 3 stroke handicap reduction for remainder of tournament
