The "Sunday Scramble"

Once again our fabtastically popular and successful Invitational Scramble is on again, preceding our Tournament proper. Based on the well-known "Scramble" format, also known as "Ambrose" in some parts, this aims to provide participants with MORE fun, MORE golf, and a chance to get acquainted with each other, and the course!

We' will also have our LIV-style Party Holes in play on selected par 3's, with Tequila shots, hot dogs, loud music and lots of fun!

RULES & CONDITIONS:

BEFORE PLAY:
  1. Tee off is by SHOTGUN START at 08:30am. Make sure you arrive at your designated starting tee at least 10 MINUTES prior (your team starting hole will be advised on or before arrival at the course)

  2. Our Player Registration Desk is open from 7:30am. Please register, pay (for those who haven't) and see the girls for raffle tickets and receive your specially printed Scramble team score cards.

  3. MULLIGANS may also be purchased from the desk. Cost is PHP600 for a 'team pack", giving each team member ONE repeat shot ONCE ONLY on the course. Non-refundable, unused ones are forfeited, and one pack per team only.

  4. Each team elects a captain (usually the lowest handicapper, or the most experienced player). He shall ensure:

    • rules are understood by all team members

    • fast play at all times

    • score card is filled out CORRECTLY and handed into the control desk IMMEDIATELY after play

  5. Your team playing handicap is determined by adding all individual handicaps and

    • dividing by EIGHT (for 4-man teams)

    • dividing by SIX (for 3-man teams).

    • This handicap must be recorded on your card. Calculation examples are at the bottom of this page.

DURING PLAY:
  1. At all times, play is subject to local and R&A rules (e.g. hazards, out-of-bounds, penalties etc)

  2. Each team member tees off individually, in whatever order the captain decides.

  3. The captain then collaborates on which is the "best" ball in play. All players travel to that ball, quickly picking up the other balls along the way (NO reverse decisions allowed after pickups)

  4. The "best ball" is marked with a tee and may then be picked up and cleaned if necessary.

  5. Each player takes his turn placing and hitting their ball within a club length of the marker (no nearer the hole) in any order chosen by the captain

  6. Play continues in this manner until one or more players are on the green.

  7. Putting proceeds similarly, with the "best ball" chosen and marked. Putts are taken in turn from that point (within 10cm either side of the marker).

  8. Balls hit out of bounds cannot be selected as best balls

  9. Balls ending up in hazards (including bunkers) may be selected as best balls, with all 4 players then hitting from the hazard within a clublength, as per normal golf.

  10. Each individual team member MUST use their tee shot as best ball a MINIMUM OF THREE TIMES in the round. Team disqualification applies if this rule is not followed.

AFTER PLAY:
  1. IMMEDIATELY at the end of the round, the Captain must submit the CORRECTLY signed and tallied score card to the organisers.

  2. Unsigned, illegible or incorrectly filled cards risk team disqualification!

  3. Your NET score is recorded by the organisers, rounded to TWO decimal places

  4. In the event of any tie, a countback of team pars made will determine the outcome.

  5. Buffet lunch, presentations and raffle draws will commence immediately following play, as directed by the tournament organisers.

TIPS FOR FASTER PLAY:
  1. Play Ready Golf at all times! E.G. If you putt out, go tee off on the next hole without waiting for your team mates, whenever possible.

  2. "Early putt-out" rule: A putt of 20cm or les may be "finished off" prior to your teammates putting, in the interests of faster play. BE CAREFUL, as a missed putt counts in that situation.

  3. Manage your scoring and card marking on the NEXT TEE, not on the hole you just finished! Ensure your caddies know this as well.

  4. Discuss best ball selection quickly! Where possible, make these decisions BEFORE leaving the tee bed.

The decisions of the orgsanising committee are final, and in the interests of fun and inclusivity.
